Discoloration Causes Teeth Arlington

Causes of Discoloration

There are plenty of reasons why you may have discolored or stained teeth, including:
  • Excessive smoking or tobacco use
  • Periodontal disease
  • Poor dental hygiene
  • Genetics and aging
  • Medications
  • Drinking caffeine or alcohol
  • Dental materials, e.g., fillings
Keeping your teeth healthy while enjoying your favorite foods and drinks, such as coffee and wine, can be challenging. Dark-colored beverages easily stain the teeth, impacting the appearance of your smile. And even with good oral hygiene and dental care, your teeth can lack brightness and luster.
Schedule your dental cleaning and exam with our dentists to prevent discoloration. For already discolored teeth, visit us for a tooth whitening session that will bring back the glory of your smile in a single visit.

In-Office Teeth Whitening Arlington

In-Office Teeth Whitening

If you are looking to get a professional teeth whitening procedure done, then an in-office teeth whitening is the best option for you. The in-office procedure is a maximum one-hour treatment in which the dentist applies a whitening gel to your teeth. The in-office teeth whitening shows immediate results.

At-Home Teeth Whitening

If you are looking for gradual change, our take-home teeth whitening trays are the ideal choice.
Tray bleaching is also a professional procedure in which a dentist designs custom trays with a whitening formula. These trays are designed according to the size and shape of your jaw and fit perfectly.
The gel-infused trays release hydroxy radicals that whiten your teeth. At-home teeth whitening is a comfortable procedure that shows gradual results. You may start to notice a difference after five days. However, it often takes up to 14 days to see the best results.

Zoom Whitening

The Advanced Zoom Power whitening treatment is a bleaching process that lightens stained or discolored enamel. A widely known procedure for teeth whitening, Zoom whitening shows rapid results that last long.

Consultation and Procedure

At Arlington Dental Associates, we start by identifying the root cause of the problem. Instead of just applying a whitening gel to your teeth, we first perform a detailed dental examination during the consultation to assess the health of your gums and teeth.
We will discuss your lifestyle habits and oral hygiene to determine which whitening procedure will most benefit you and recommend composite bonding or veneers based on your oral health conditions for best results.
Zoom whitening is a one-hour procedure. The treatment starts by preparing your mouth. Our dentists first cover your gums and lips, exposing only the teeth to the treatment. Then they apply hydrogen peroxide whitening gel and activate it using Zoom light. The light helps the gel penetrate the teeth to remove discoloration and stains. The gel and light are applied in multiple sessions of 15 minutes.
We provide patients with breaks between the sessions to ensure they are comfortable and relaxed. Inform us immediately if your experience anxiety or gag reflex during the procedure.
